Dan Heng
- Rarity: 4-Star
- Element: Wind
- Scaling: ATK
Dan Heng is a great character for Hunt, but he doesn’t have as many extra kits as his peers. He also has a low base ATK, which is a shame because he should be the team’s damage dealer.
His game requires people to bring something to help him. First, his Talent lets him raise his Wind RES PEN, but only if an ally uses their ability on him first. Also, you can only use this Talent once every two times. Second, his Ultimate can do a lot of damage, but first the player has to make sure the enemy is Slowed. Dan Heng can use his Skill to slow down the enemy, but sometimes using Skill before Ultimate is a waste. For example, if his Energy is already full and he uses Skill, he will lose the Energy he was meant to gain.
Overall, Dan Heng is a great DPS, but he can only reach his full potential when he has good backup. For now, he has to settle for a lower rank on the Hunt character tier list.
Sushang
- Rarity: 4-Star
- Element: Physical
- Scaling: ATK
In Honkai: Star Rail, Sushang is a great choice whenever a player needs a Physical character to beat an enemy with Physical Weakness Break. Sushang’s best ability is that she gets her turn back after using her Ultimate. Players can take advantage of this by making her act three times in a row. This is important for her build because moving this many times makes it almost certain that she will be the one to totally drain the Toughness of her enemies. So, if you give her more Break Effect, she will do more damage when she breaks an enemy’s Toughness.
Unfortunately, Sushang has the same problem as Dan Heng because her kit is very specific and she can’t reach her full ability without the right setup.
Yanqing
- Rarity: 5-Star
- Element: Ice
- Scaling: ATK
Yanqing is the first step away from niche characters and toward characters with too much power. He has everything a DPS needs as a 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail. Yanqing can improve all of his offensive stats, from Crit DMG and Crit Rate to his own damage and the amount of damage he does. This makes building as easy as it gets. Yanqing’s Ultimate alone gives him a huge 60% Crit Rate, so 8 Ball Pool players should put as much Crit Damage as they can into his build.
Yanqing’s Traces also give him small buffs on top of all the other ones he gives himself. For example, he does more damage to enemies that are weak to ice and his SPD goes up when he gets a critical hit. Overall, Yanqing is a strong and steady Hunt character who can be used anywhere in Honkai: Star Rail.
Seele
- Rarity: 5-Star
- Element: Quantum
- Scaling: ATK
Seele may look like a standard Hunt unit and only deal damage to a single target, but it doesn’t care about anyone on the other side of the field. If Seele beats an enemy, she can move again while her power is boosted, which makes her perfect for getting rid of weak enemies. The double turn also makes it easy to charge her Ultimate. Beating an enemy with her Ultimate can then give her another turn, making Seele a great choice even when there are multiple enemies to fight.
Seele’s SPD goes up after she uses her Skill, which means that she can move around more often with all of her kits. This is especially important when fighting Honkai: Star Rail bosses, who players will want to hit as much as possible.
Honkai: Star Rail is now available for Android, iOS, and PC. A version for the PlayStation is in the works.
